Stoneworks Garth Site Progress – 1st October 2011

Stoneworks Garth Site Progress – 1st October 2011

We have now overcome some interesting ground conditions and have the first 4 timber frames erected, foundations complete for a further 6 houses and works about to commence on the founds for the last two homes.

From local knowledge of the site we expected a number of slurry lagoons and were not disappointed. We have removed all the stone and dried slurry from these lagoons, backfilled with crushed stone and have had a piling rig on site to vibro compact the material on three housing plots to allow foundations to be constructed.

The site access road cannot currently be completed as the old electric transformer and overhead power lines crossing the site need re-located.

The timber frames have been manufactured and erected by Thomas Armstrongs from West Cumbria.
